OFF TO THE MATCH
Newcastle were playing at home again this afternoon against Derby. I took my blip shot as I walked towards " my " turnstile. The East Stand where I sit is on the left. On the right is Leazes Terrace - a Grade One listed building built in 1830. The majority of the houses are owned by Newcastle University and are used as Halls of Residence.
Newcastle won the match 1 - 0. A much needed 3 points which puts us back at the top of the table. As you can see we had blue sky and sunshine but as soon as the sun went in it was quite chilly.
Did a bit of shopping after the match. Newcastle was very busy - and noisy. Lots of hen parties/stag parties having fun.
Witnessed a massive argument while I was waiting for my bus home. It was between a burly bouncer outside Harry's Bar and a chap who decided to smoke a cigarette in the doorway. The bouncer told him 3 times to stop smoking there but the smoker just gave abuse. The bouncer put his hand on the chap to move him away - then it kicked off. The smoker was very annoyed and argumentative. The bouncer was calm. This calmness seemed to inflame the smoker even more. Luckily the smokers bus came and the situation ended. Whew!.
In my extra shot you can see what I saw in my garden this morning eating the seed on the ground under the bird feeder. A white hen. No idea where it came from but I guess someone keeps hens on their allotment and it had wandered off. I had to go out to the match so I don't know what happened to it. I hope it made its way home eventually.
