My Angel!

Nellie of the Woods was my angel today! She is going to cover some of my chicken duties whilst I am away so we arranged she would come to me this morning and I would show her the routine. Well it was a rough night, gales and torrential rain - so i didn't get much sleep and the last time I looked at the clock it said 4.40! So of course I overslept! She was coming to me at 8 - 8.30 and it was 8.15! So I got up and dressed like a mad thing and hoped she had changed her mind as it was still lashing down with rain! Going to get my coat to my horror I saw a book I had lent her on my doormat! I felt soooo bad!
On getting to the allotment who should be walking down the track but Nellie! All smiles, no recriminations, and she had already done the chickens! We walked back to them to as she wanted me to check she had done everything right! Which she had! So home we went for coffee! Whilst I was dry and warm she was soaked through to the skin! So she took off her trousers, wrapped herself in a towel and blanket, and we then set about putting the world to right! Then I  lent her a pair of my leggings, gave her some of my homemade jam and some eggs  and drove her home! I'm so lucky to have such an angel in my life!
