What A Day

SWMBO stayed in bed this morning - still suffering from a migraine.
So it was up to me to fight the monsters over breakfast and getting to school.
It was starting to get a bit damp when we left the house so I drove them down to the school rather than stopping to collect PD - I don't like having to leave him tied up outside the school grounds while I take Squirrel into the nursery and get her ready.
By the time I got back the to the house the weather was moving from damp to moist.
One I had got into my waterproofs and PD and I left the house it had progressed to wet.
By the time we got to the mid way point we had got into monsoon territory.
It took 2 towels to dry PD and my jacket had had more than its allotted water quotient and needs to be re-waterproofed.
Needless to say it was clear skies when I left the house 15 minutes after getting in.

I was going out to help a friend get his camera club competition entries e-mailed off ......... 2 of the 4 were popping up in the wrong format and wouldn't open.
Normally he would just have his staff do it for him - but she was still in hospital.
It took an hour and a half to get things sorted and to be honest, we have no idea how we did it. He showed me how he prepared his images which seemed right but still 2 were going into the ether and coming back wrong. I tried. Same thing. I went right back to basics and started from the original images ........ renaming, resizing - everything still no joy. Then after 6 attempts ................ PING! - they were as they should be.
I hate technology!

After the two pick-ups at the school (half an hour apart!) SWMBO still wasn't up to getting vertical so I had to cope with the monsters all afternoon with no break to walk PD (his owners only worked half day so collected him before I got the chance to escape).

Fights and tantrums over lunch and tears over a foot injury (he has been told not to do cartwheels in the house!) aside, the monsters weren't too bad. After crafts they were told they could watch a film but as the TV was switched on there was a cookery programme starting. The Cygnet was enthralled and watched the whole thing intently asking questions and making salient comments. I think he may be assisting his mother in doing something fancy this weekend.

SWMBO still hasn't surfaced but at least I got her to eat dinner tonight - including desert (hers substituted strawberries for raspberries ..... she was not having my rasps!).
Hopefully she will be okay for going through to Glasgow tomorrow for the remembrance ceremony for our old neighbour who passed away the other week.
