Carefree days!

I just upset a box of old photographs in the cupboard and clearing them away I came across this old photograph. I'm the one in the middle. I'm with two best friends - I think David and another Michael - and we're on top of Thorpe Cloud, the hill at the entrance to Dovedale. We would have cycled there from Mayfield, the village on the Staffordshire side of the River Dove, where we all lived. I think I would have been around 9 years old, so it would be around 1958. We had lots of adventures like this - total freedom to be gone all day in the holidays. No idea who would have taken the photograph.
