The bow of the Lunar Bow

Another visit to Peterhead harbour on a lovely sunny afternoon.

This is the bow of the Lunar Bow, a large pelagic fishing vessel. The ship across the harbour is the Panama flagged Deep Cygnus, a multipurpose offshore support vessel for the oil and gas industry; she is now at sea en-route to Montrose.

The "extra" is a reminder, if you need one, of Brexit. As you can deduce from the message on the superstructure of the Atlantic Challenger, the fishing industry is strongly in favour of leaving, believing that we would thus regain control over our fishing grounds. The worry now is that those fishing rights might yet be used as a sweetener in Mrs May's discussions. We are doomed to live in interesting times for some time to come!
