Antony Meyer, RIP

Today we said goodbye to a beloved cousin who passed away far too soon. He was 56 years old and succumbed when an aggressive cancer cut his life short. His zest and love for life were his trademark.

Yet, he was one of the healthiest most active people around: he served in the Parachute Batallion in Bloemfontein; did freefall; paragliding, kayaking; did a pathfinders course as airbourne Infanteer. In 1989 he was involved in a serious parachute accident that ended his airbourne career. He was part of the Infantry School Combat Rifle Shooting Team and also of the Cycling Team. Not to mention his love for motorbikes.
He was aqualified panel beater/spray painter and welder.

The image is part of the leaflet handed out at the funeral and shows himself, his wife Heida, son Markus and daughter Dané.
Recently when the state of his health became known, his daughter was busy preparing for and writing her 3rd year exams at Stellenbosch University. Markus then only just started with Grade 12 exams. Both passed.
We are thankful that he had a wonderful life and can now rest in peace.
