Nice lunchtime walk today.
I started off shooting a busker who was awfully chatty. When I told him I wanted to photograph him playing he replied that he's "not a machine" and "cannot always just turn the music on". Then he pointed at my camera and said he "gave up all that" and now leads a simple life with just him and his faithful fiddle. Very inspiring stuff, but not quite enough for me to acknowledge the shallowness of my existence and throw my camera into the nearest bin.
When I walked past him again on the way back to the office I gave him what I hope looked like a "right on brother" wave/salute/clenched-fist kind of gesture. So I was a little bit surprised when he told me to come over and asked if I could email a few photographs of him to his gmail account. I guess I should be somewhat flattered, grateful he's not totally unplugged himself off the grid, and thankful I hadn't thrown away all my material baggage.
I also asked this subject for a quick portrait. A bit too sunny for my liking, but she had a lovely and intriguing face.
