Windy City

When I realised we would be in Dubai for stage four of the Tour of Dubai I got very excited at the thought of seeing the Manx Missile in action. Off we went in the taxi this morning with a driver who didn't have a clue and took an hour (maybe he did have a clue?) for a 20 minute drive. When we got to the fan's village for the start it was to discover that due to the bad weather the route hade been changed and the start was scheduled for 1.00 p.m. elsewhere and the teams had left earlier. Hung around for a couple of hours in high winds and cooling temperatures to see the start on the big screen. At 1.10 p.m. it was announced the stage was cancelled due to the high winds, so consequently the only cyclist we saw was this unicyclist doing his thing outside the Team Dimension Data (Mark Cavendish's team) stand. Wee extra of me, so near but yet so far......
