Today's the day ...................... to re-acquaint

Will had a meeting in Manchester today - and I went along for the ride.

It's a while since I've been in this most vibrant of cities and I found I had to re-acquaint myself with the rapidly changing city centre.  Some buildings have been there all the time but are now emerging from scaffolding to reveal themselves in all their former glory - like the Central Library on the left of the picture.  There were quite a few constructions, heading ever skywards, that were new to me and made things look quite different.

The Manchester Art Gallery was comfortingly unchanged - at least from the outside.  It's still free to visit and still a good place to eat lunch.  The galleries are full of interesting displays and fine works of art - with a bit of quirkiness thrown in (see extra).  A very good place to spend time ..........................
