Barrel repurposed

I seem to have had burst of energy that shows itself in manic usage of old items in a new way.

In the cellar unmoved since we moved in, were three old half barrels previously used as flower tubs. They have been mouldering away since God knows when and getting damper and rustier each time  I fell over them.

As we are selling the house it is time to start clearing away, but I unable to throw anything out if there is a chance of re-using it. The barrel staves stoked the study stove, the hoops I made into the carcass of an astrolabe, arrows to be added.

Hung in the inner hall until Madam notices when no doubt they will find their final resting place in a corner of the garden.

Tomorrow a bird feeder!
