Curious

Do you ever look at something and wonder what the designer was thinking. That is not to say that a given product is bad, but rather it is out of the norm. This Christmas decoration is like that.

What exactly was on the designer's mind when they created this? Were they perhaps smoking some illicit substance? I have no idea, but find it an intriguing thought.

This "animal" appears to be some sort of dog with clown feet, a bell-like appendage and carrying a basket full of who knows what. Perhaps this is some kind of failed genetic combination of a dog and court jester? I am not entirely sure.

I originally tried to juxtapose this creature with a traditional nutcracker to show the contrast of traditional vs "new", but was not happy with the result. You can see the rejected picture here. Interestingly, these two items were given to us by our mothers. That is TMG's mom gave us one and Mrs. TMG's mom gave us the other. I will lead it to the reader to decide who gave us what.
