The jokes on me!!

There will be a lot of giggling when I tell you this tale!

This Bird of Paradise plant was given to me for my birthday last April. They can be quite difficult to keep alive let alone flower I was told. I was rather chuffed that this one already had a healthy looking bloom and I was determined to keep it going.

As the summer progressed I lavished my love upon this exotic plant marvelling at the flowers ability to last for so long, making a cheerful splash of colour on my windowsill.

A couple of months ago the lady that does my back, known as Miss Whiplash, came to give me a general going over. She stayed for lunch as she often does. She wandered over to the windowsill and smiled . She said how healthy the plant was and of course I was very quick to tell her how long I had had my flower and what an amazing plant this was. Then to my momentary horror she pulled at the flower stem uprooting it. Eeeek what are you doing I squeaked only to realise that my most magnificent bloom was in fact PLASTIC.

I had been HAD!

It turns out that Miss Whiplash had also purchased a plant the same for a friend but hers had a large label attached to this one confessing that the plastic flower was there to give an idea of what the real bloom would look like.

So here it is. My wonderful green leaves and plastic bloom. I dont tell anyone and in fact no one has ever spotted this unless I uproot it!!

Moral of the tale. I'm not very observant am I!

Farming - Two on compost hauling. Mr Taby Jnr hauling bales and Mr Tbay attending to Mrs R's VAT.

And tomorrow I will be attending to my VAT!
