Unemployed

Off to Erkheim's riding club stables to collect our weekly supply of a 20kg sack of carrots (6€) which a dealer leaves their. In an unheated stables with day time temperatures around -10°C you can imagine what happens. Angie normally collects the sack in the evening when she returns home by train from Munich.

The Blip is of the underpass being built at Sontheim station. Since Christmas and thanks to the weather, building work has stopped. In the good old days, building workers got "Bad Weather" money and were I think, not officially unemployed. Nowadays they are and so the statistics will go up for January.

We had three road crossings in the village and just two years ago two young lads were killed on New Years Eve when they ignored the barrier. One crossing has been replaced with a bypass with fly-over and once this one is finished, I suspect the third small crossing will be closed and one will have to make a detour. All part of the electrification programme for the Munich - Zurich line.
