Another lone tree

.. not quite so picturesque. Especially not when you get close to and find it's housing a nest of processionary caterpillars. We had  a short stroll on the beach in Salobreña today, prior to going to see La-La Land at the municipal cinema. Luckily I did not have great expectations for this film, so I was not disappointed. Sorry, I just found it mediocre. It took a long time to get going, and it had zero originality and no good tunes (it did get better towards the very end with one good dance scene). But in terms of classic musicals it was a dud. I don't really understand all the fuss about it.

I couldn't help remembering this terrific sequence from Singing in the Rain with Debbie Reynolds -- she was something like 19 at the time, had no dancing experience prior to the film, and wow, the singing and dancing are fantastic! I suppose nowadays it's not worth investing the time in learning to sing and dance really well, since musicals are no longer a thing.

Later we went to the local bar for a couple of drinks and a shared ración of pinchitos de pollo (chicken kebabs) that was enough to feed four (leaving aside the free tapas that came with the drinks!)
