In 1959, Texas Instruments requested the Patent on their Integrated Circuit. On this day in 1972, Hewlett Packard launched their first scientific calculator - it cost $395, equivalent to around £2000 today... I only know this as it was part of a School Assembly I gave today. Seemingly, they were more interested in it being Harry Styles' birthday...
