Protecting a tree

we met our new cat friend this morning and in awe of the apartment that is to be home for the next 10 days. We move over tomorrow.

Afterwards on the walk into Lisbon centre a building project was taking place, the centre piece was this wonderful looking tree top surrounded by concrete walls that had measurements on the wall showing incremts from C = 13 m up to C =19 m, we assumed the trunk/roots to to be 19 meters inside the casing?

A good day of wandering the streets, eating and even a lunch time glass of wine. I think we walked it off on the way back to our room. As usual the tourist information office was very helpful, we want to look around a market Rick Stein visited in his long weekend to Lisbon. The woman in the TIO looked it up - also Rich Stein - and given us directions. That's for another day.
