Ruff in the Sun

A trip to Preston to see my other half's family means a trip to WWT Martin Mere in Lancashire for me. Well, the other option is to sit and freeze on a football terrace!

So I'd rather sit and freeze in a draughty bird hide. The weather was wet, windy, cold and sunny - in varying degrees. I also met up with fellow blipper and LPH devotee tonym.

During the winter Martin Mere attracts many visiting birds including Whooper Swans. The extra is a youngster. They get an extra food boost as they are fed every afternoon. But numbers are not as good as in previous years.
