Look at that sea, girls
Look at that sea, girls--all silver and shadow and vision of things not seen. We couldn't enjoy its loveliness any more if we had millions of dollars and ropes of diamonds.
Anne of Green Gables, LM Montgomery
it was dead calm and ethereal, even a little steam rising off the silver sea. The odd droopy shape is a heron, disturbed in his vigil on the nearby rocks.
Yesterday was so wet and so grey, I didn't get further than the polytunnel to retrieve soggy towels and the camera remained unchallenged. This morning it looked better. TJ arrived for coffee, sporting a tan, and full of tales about her recent time in Gran Canaria. Then I nipped across the mountain to borrow a book from another friend and had a wee snoop around some dereliction on the way home. And now we've just skyped with son#1 who has spent the last three days being very hardy in the Cairngorms - crampons, ice picks and belaying involved. He looked wrecked with a sunburnt nose. A sociable kind of day.
