On Kinder plateau

August bank holiday - rather wild and windy with mist coming and going and spells of rain.... Where better than Kinder plateau? Only a few walkers were around on what would have been a busy day in sunnier weather. Having walked the edges previously, I ventured out onto the plateau itself a bit more this time - the consistent southerly wind was a real bonus for keeping a sense of direction. It really is rather surreal with peat, gritstone and moorland vegetation in various proportions and combinations. Even on a dull day there were some interesting photographic opportunities. This was somewhere just north of Kinder Low. The wind at the southern edge on the way back was terrific!
