...negotiating a 2 foot gap with an 8 foot stick.  He worked at this long enough for me to begin to think that he was an exception to the common belief that border collies are extremely clever dogs...and then he dropped the stick, came through the gate, sat, looked at me and cocked his head the way he does when he wants someone to pick up a stick and throw it for him....wait...did he just tell me to fetch? ;)
