three January shots

A grass that is reduced to a whisper, brilliant prairie fire (Little Bluestem) and a black and white that I call "spent"! The result of wandering out in the sun and wind this morning.

Actually it is remarkably warm (62ºF, 17ºC) this afternoon. The forecast shows the temperature as decreasing by 10 degrees each day this week ending with a high of 37 (2.7C). Next Monday. Well it is only January-February. I think the latest we have had a frost is about the beginning of May and the most snow I remember fell towards the end of March.
