Sanchi

The Great Stupa at Sanchi, in the distance, begun in 300 B.C. and expanded in 100 B.C..  The nearer columns belong to a later 11th century temple.
Extra shows little-visited Stupa 2.  Whole site is both spectacular and very moving, set on a hill with views over the surrounding countryside of Madhya Pradesh.
