Low and fast
Delayed my waterside jog until this afternoon. Set out two and a half hours before low tide, and it was a good time to see the bigger waders. No dotterels and no stilts. Many heron and oystercatchers. Scattered kuaka almost frantically eating as they prepare for the long flight north.
Although I was taken with a shot of four kuaka, in the end I chose this one as I have found heron very difficult to photograph in flight. This time I think that I've nailed it; almost.
Back to locum work tomorrow. I have a six to eight week agreement which I need to honour before starting the new post. This is in liaison work in North Shore Hospital, work that I do enjoy.
