Male Red Shafted Northern Flicker

One of the suet feeders is gone. I think it must have blown away in some heavy winds. I saw that the downspout was down in the garden the other day too. This guy was looking for it. I have a new one on order.

Had a good afternoon and evening with Arvin and Helena. I picked them both up and we attended the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra concert. It was one of the Harmony out of Discord series and had a number of pieces by Jewish musicians from WWII, most of whom died in the holocaust. The centerpiece was the wonderful Mendelssohn violin concerto played by Jennifer Koh. She plays with such finesse. She gave a short interview at the beginning of the second half. What a fine person she is, in addition to being an amazing musician. We met friends Alan and Susan for dinner at Brandywine Kitchen after the concert. I took H home and A back to Silverado. We all had a great time together.
