When the Boat Comes in..

Out early this morning in search of the sun. Drove through thick mist on the Moors to emerge into sunshine near Whitby. The road from Teeside was busy as I imagine Whitby was. We turned north to visit Staithes.

The tide was out and we had a walk on the wave cut platform. As we returned to the village we spotted the lifeboat returning home after an excercise. I was impressed with the tractor which due to an water tight cabin could go into deep water to retrieve the lifeboat.

The extra is of an artist on the harbour side but it was difficult to do justice to his work due to being in the shade compared to the background.
