When we reached the club, at around midday, I hoped to see the parrots I was shown last week (here). However, no sign of action, I think the birds have flown. For lack of parrots, I aimed the camera at the kapok tree and the golfers beyond. Sad to think that this beautiful course may be reaching the end of the road. So few members now, and costs rocketing.

HH's hip was hurting and he decided against playing. Instead of going on home, we stayed for lunch, and heard more depressing news. Another friend has left the club and a couple of British teachers, who moved up from Rio fairly recently, intending to spend their retirement here, are about to give up their Brazilian residency and return to the UK. So many people leaving, maybe we should be listening to our daughters and considering a more radical move ourselves. Today's news is certainly causing a rethink.

Flabbergasted by what's going on in the States. Just unbelievable.
