Rainbow

I did a couple of trial Big Garden Birdwatches this morning, and also tried one in the local park - none of them were very productive, the one in the park least so. While in the park I took one photo which I thought would have to be today's Blip, but later I looked out of the window and saw this! They don't usually last long, so it was panic stations - the GH4 was by my side, but I thought the Olympus Dramatic Tone Art Filter would be effective, so I 'ran' upstairs, grabbed an Olympus and brought it down. The first grabbed shot was very badly framed, and taken from too low a position, so I climbed on a chair (not easy nowadays), and tried again, framing it differently, and with the Art Filter engaged. I wasn't very happy with the result, so changed a few settings, but when I looked up the rainbow had completely disappeared! When I first saw it, it was a double rainbow, but I was too slow to catch that. In the end I did not like the Art Filter version - it is sometimes effective, but more often than not it is completely over the top, and you can't adjust its strength. However, the Olympus captures a RAW file as well, so it is that which I processed with my own LR 'My Dramatic Tone' settings, and a few more tweaks. It is probably still a bit over-processed (certainly much stronger than the original RAW), but even if it is not entirely natural, this is how it struck me when I looked up and first saw it.
