Big Garden Bird Watch

Every year in the last weekend in January the RSPB invites people to spend an hour recording the birds they see in their garden. Last year half a million people took part and 8,262,662 sightings were sent in.

We have just completed our hour and recorded 17 different birds.
This Nuthatch was one of our highlights. There were also Bullfinches, Goldfinches, Greenfinches and a Heron.

The information is very valuable for monitoring from year to year changes in our garden bird populations.
