Smiling

Today has been one of those ones that just turns out right.

I started with breakfast in my new chair - because the sun found Oamaru, which was lovely after yesterday's rain.

Then I drove to a field of sunflowers that Rainie and Oldtimer blipped a couple of days ago.  Many thanks to them both for directions.

I spent a lovely hour there immersed in golden flowers.  The photo I've chosen to blip is because to me it was all about the whole amazing field of them - kilometres of them!

But the bees were also incredible so I've put one in my extras.  It was near on impossible to focus on them, they were so covered in pollen!  I've actually had to desaturate this photo - the colours were so unbelievably intense.

After that I tootled on south.  I took lots of back roads today.  It was just that sort of day.  I've washed up, as I often do, at Moeraki.  I thought about going off to find penguins this evening but have decided I've had enough photography today.  Now my book and I are going to enjoy the view of the harbour - from my new chair.

The only downside I can think of to my day is my sunburn.  I did sunblock this morning, but didn't reapply this afternoon, so my nose and the back of my neck are a little pink.  Next time I spend a day hopping in and out of the van to take photos I'll have to set myself a reminder on my phone.
