Thank you for your kind words yesterday.

I popped in to see mum today - they had got a hospital bed for her, so she was able to lie a bit more upright, and it will also help the pressure sores which have developed (I hope) recently.

She looked a bit better, but didn't really seem to register that I was there. I tried to give her some healthy orange juice, but she wasn't interested.

On my morning dog walk I saw three foxes curled up on the far bank of the drain. When I returned with my camera there was only one left, and to my amazement - it was Jack!!  I haven't seen him for weeks and had assumed that either he was one of the two dead foxes I'd seen recently, or had succumbed to his horrid facial wound which started in September 2015.

He looks in fabulous condition, his wound seems dry and clean, there's no obvious swelling from infection and his eye looks considerably better than the last time I saw him. What a survivor he is!
