Very silly Chinkara stag

he stamped his feet and made a feeble trial at bellowing at me as I watched him with his two does and fawns from a viewing platform.  We went to Bickaner where we got lost today and found ourselves getting down progressively narrower ancient streets with the wing mirrors having to be pulled in.  Motorbikes and tuktuks tried to pass us and made it even more difficult.  However we finally found a 'Heritage Hotel'.   i.e. a palace that belonged to a Marharaja who has opened it up as a hotel and moved into a more modern one next door! Lovely lake, hugely expensive lunch overlooking it and a hideous drive for 40k on untarmacked road to avoid Bickaner on the return!  Not sure which drive was the worst.  Nagaur is in the center of Rajasthan and very rural with huge deserts to the west - the population is still very traditional especially in the countryside and the ladies cover their faces at every opportunity (not least because of the dust!).
