OAP's

This is Mel again, sharing her haynet with Prince, the other pony that I sometimes muck out at this yard. They are both in their golden years now. Sadly I found out today that two weeks ago Prince was given two weeks to live, as he has cancer. He's already exceeded expectations, albeit by a day so far, so every day is a bonus.

My extra is the 'plaster' covering the stitches required to seal up the gash in Dazzle's undercarriage ... did I write about that yesterday?! To recap, he got loose, galloped towards a gate, tried to stop, found he couldn't so had no choice but to jump it. It's actually a double gate, about ten foot wide. He scraped his belly over the only sharp edge, about two inches in the centre where the two gates meet. He has previous for this idiotic act - as a little foal he jumped out of a stable twice and nearly ruined his legs. He's only 2yrs old now, so still not broken in. He may turn out to be a great show jumper if we can keep him alive long enough!
