Buttermere

Such a beautiful, bright day!

When we got to the far end of Buttermere there was a bitterly cold wind!

Luckily, we found shelter, and enjoyed our flask and wholemeal cheese rolls...so lucky to picnic in January!

There must have been thousands of starlings in yesterday's murmuration...amazing to see them performing acrobatics in the sky...the noise was incredible at times, too! If you are thinking of going to see them at Gretna, I could show you the best place to park...
