Between fen and mountains

Soggy ditch

I am not sure quite what distinguishes a dyke from a ditch from a drain.  All of them are necessary but not very appealing in winter.  They are also where the rats live. At least the mist lifted but only into low cloud.  I collected a large hacksaw from work and a clean blade as I have a butchery job to do tomorrow.  C. has been hanging some venison.  In the past we have just made mince and diced meat but this time we aim to do a proper job and get some joints, chops and steaks. I am sure it will be much more difficult than it appears on the internet videos.
I did a bit of work in the shop and then returned home to study some woodburner catalogues.  It is that sort of day.  I might light more fires if I didn't have to clean out the open fireplace every time.
