Drawing the Arctic Circle

We set off early this morning for our adventure to Finland. We were worried about the fog on the way to the airport and it did delay both our drive and our takeoff a bit. We got to Helsinki around 4pm Finnish time.

A run through Helsinki airport to our connecting flight - but we made it. This is a view out of the window as we took off for the flight up to Ivalo.

We were expecting it to be colder than it is as it's 145 miles inside the arctic circle. It was actually a quite balmy 6 degrees as we landed. Our hotel provided transport from the airport which appeared to be driven by a championship rally driver. Very snowy roads, very fast but still felt safe.

Time to settle down for some dinner and a rest.
