Miserable Monday
I set my alarm so as to get some idea of what awaits me tomorrow and woke to rain lashing against the windows and the local radio telling me that the main road into Cornwall, the 30, was closed in three places. Two accidents and a falling tree had effectively brought travel in and out of the county to a halt. This was a shame as a good deal of the holidaymakers seemed to be heading home due to the awful weather.
I have no doubt the weather will improve tomorrow when I return to work!
We eventually walked down town, new ink cartridges required, postcards for the US and birthday + anniversary cards to be posted.
'Dolly's Tea Room' for coffee and cake, (no cale for me), was a poor reward for braving the elements.
We walked through the town, looking for a suitable kitchen ceiling light, eventually arriving at Princess Pavilions for more coffee where we met more holidaying families sheltering from the weather.
The walk home saw us arrive on the doorstep drenched through but at least at bit more cheerful than the last couple of days.
We are still hoping to return to more regular meals once our body clocks have returned to normal but until then it remains cheese rolls and chocolate for the time being.
