Boyne River
Spent some time watching birds watching birds.
I brought Fluffikens to this part of the country on a becalmed day with an ebb tide pushing the flocks out of range. Will prepare better next time and bring her when the birds are in. Directly across the river is a reserve for roseatte terns so plenty to see her in season.
Where we stood is quite a historic site on the river Boyne at the mouth or the river with the Ladies Linger and Maiden's Tower used to guide sailing ships. ..... and 500 years before the pyramids were built barges carrying thirty ton granite slabs passed here on their way to Newgrange having been hewn from the Wicklow mountains.... an amazing concept...just saying
