The Leicester & Swannington Railway Ride

Here we all are outside the Glenfield portal of The 180 year old Glenfield Tunnel. The line has been long closed but the tunnel remains. On the ride were learnt how it has undergone large scale restoration recently, and the story of some of the 14 ventilation shafts many of which are still intact across the mile long route of the tunnel. A fascinating afternoon, it proves you can still find undiscovered places hidden beneath the spectre of the familiar.
