Lorna

When we got our hens at first she was the largest of the three and so was named after one of JT's colleagues. Why? Because she gets called "Big Bird" and has blonde streaks in her hair. Not that you can see this Lorna's blonde streaks at the moment becuase she is moulting and has been getting rather wet today. Which always makes me think of Dolly Parton and the lyric "she's as mad as an old wet hen".

Dolly is, of course, a genius. And one of the few people who when I saw her live I could hardly believe it was real. That was almost exactly a year ago, a great night out much enlivened by Heather deciding we had to all have matching gingham underwear. Even JT... There's a tale for another day.
