Moaness Pier, Hoy

It’s all systems go on Moaness Pier, Hoy, as folk either return from the Mainland with messages or prepare for a day in Stromness.  The service is provided by the MV Graemsay which is also used to take pupils to and from school in Stromness.  The vessel is also used on special cargo crossing days during the week when sheep or kye are transported.

CMC’s mother is now 87.  She still works as the Postmistress in the Hoy Post Office.

Last week she spent half a day carting barrow loads of chuckies onto her drive.  Yesterday she was out unblocking a ditch with her spade.  She slipped and fell in the ditch and soaked herself. 

She needs checking up on.
