Pandanus

 A very hardy specimen in our garden to be.

There are a myriad of uses for this plant, in various foods and drinks. The leaf fibres are used for ropes, sails  and matting and apparently there is also  medicinal use. 
So if this house building marlaky turns into an overspend of "Grand Designs" proportions, I can always resort to home made crafts!!!
