Madame Lurkey Turkey

Some say that if you put a Bush Turkey and a stone in a pot the stone would be ready to eat before the Turkey..........Tough old birds.

The Males spend most of their lives scratching and making huge nests hardly stopping to eat...makes one rather tired to watch them really.

They can also decimate a veggie patch in a matter of a very short time...or if they get into your house can redecorate your kitchen in a not so nice way.

So many people I know would love to wring their necks...but there is something kind of endearing about them ( I can say that never having them in my kitchen) and they do look rather regal strutting around........Viva la Lurkey Turkey.
