Chirpy parakeets at Oblation Paper & Press in the Pearl District.

I'm all atwitter about the amazing turnout of "birds" and their supporters for today's demonstrations ALL OVER THE WORLD. The photos were so heartening.

There were lots of pink hats, pink coats, pink purses, pink scarves, pink shirts, and pink shoes. And there were lots of homemade signs. Here are some of the ones I could decipher.

PHILADELPHIA: "Be a President for everyone" (little girl)
PITTSBURGH: "Still we rise"
SIOUX FALLS, SD: "Keep the mitts off the lady bits"
SPRINGFIELD, MO: "Feminism is for everyone"
PORTLAND, OR: "When women thrive, we all thrive"

LAS CRUCES, NM: "No longer the silent majority"
FLAGSTAFF, AZ: "Nasty women stronger together"
SITKA, AK: "Teach peace"
FAIRBANKS, AK: "Education matters" (held by a boy)
KETCHIKAN, AK: "Power to the people"
PORTLAND, ME: "Love not hate makes America great"
SALEM, OR: "High quality health care for all"
MADISON, WI: "Don't forget to set your clocks back 300 years"
INDIANAPOLIS: "For most of history, Anonymous was a woman"
CHEYENNE, WY: "It is time for women to stop being politely angry"
LINCOLN, NB: "Save science"
LANSING, MI: "Paws off my pussy"
DALLAS: "If male politicians could give birth, I would be at brunch right now"
MEMPHIS, TN: "RATIFY THE E.R.A. WE HAVE WAITED TOO LONG"
Added:
HONOLULU: "America needs a LEADER, not a TWEETER."

In Portland, Oregon, organizers expected 3,000 marchers. They estimate the turnout was actually 100,000 (the Portland Fire Bureau estimated 70,000). The demonstrators filled 44 city blocks.

On Inauguration Day, I tried not to feel hopeless.
Today, I am filled with helium and as chirpy as a parakeet.

NOTE TO FUTURE HISTORIANS.
Wee bit of confusion here. January 20, the date of this picture, was Inauguration Day, and January 21 was the date of the worldwide marches by and for women. I have fallen behind — wrote and posted this blip on the 21st. Normally no big deal, except overnight the world changed!
