An Inn of Learning

This is the Top Brink Inn, Lumbutts, Todmorden.  Formerly called the Dog & Partridge - (but known to locals as the Top Brink) - it was where as a lad I followed a very intensive training schedule on how to drink beer.  I was weaned on Massey's Mild (a Burnley Beer) and then graduated to Draught Bass - some years later I moved on to Draught Guinness - and that's as far as I ever got :-)
The pub was much smaller in those bygone days, the extension to the right didn't exist and the pub only had one room.  In winter a curtain was pulled across to lessen the size of the room and to keep customers warm - only one fireplace - wood & coal :-)
