Coal Tit

A nice lie in this morning but a busy day doing "stuff" - housework, laundry, shopping, a bit of paperwork that needed doing and then a while watching the birds in the garden this afternoon.
We've suddenly acquired quite a lot of new visitors, probably due to the new feeder we put up after Christmas that they are now getting used to - not that I am complaining of course!
Today the list included 16 species!
- Blackbirds
- Great Tits
- Blue Tits
- Coal Tits
- Long Tailed Tits (we don't see these often, but they like the fat balls)
- Robin
- Jays (our regulars)
- Pigeons - loads!
- a couple of Starlings (we don't see these often)
- Mrs Blackcap
- Collared doves
- Goldfinches - a flock of at least 20 were in the tall tree at one point
- Chaffinches
- a couple of Greenfinch ( a first in the garden)
- A tiny little Wren
- a couple of Dunnocks
In fact, the only thing missing from today that we normally get were the Magpies and the grey squirrels, and both I am not too worried about not seeing. So, I'm really looking forward to next weekend's Big Garden Birdwatch :)

Hopefully I get time to go out tomorrow for a bit of a walk, with most of the weekend's jobs already ticked off.
