Falconer Love

I love how photographs capture a moment in time to be cherished forever. This photograph caught a tender moment between Hannah the falconer and Louis the Chaco Owl as they paused briefly during a photoshoot.

Louis, who will be four in September, is the latest addition to the Castle Falconry Team. Most likely male (soon to be tested), Louis enjoys a diet of small rodents and insects and is indigenous to Argentina.

Once settled in, this gorgeous Chaco Owl will appear in free flying display demos, experience days and deliver rings at weddings just like Woody practised yesterday - see my Blip.

Don't you agree that Louis is rather a fine looking owl? That's if you can spot the stripey feathers against the tapestry!
