Some friend!

Yet another dull, low cloud, lightless day, brightened a little by:

 
* An excellent talk by my favourite, Max Adams. What he doesn’t know about Alfred the Great cannot be worth knowing and being able to put it over to 60 plus people in such an entertaining way – miraculous.
 
* Lunch at Carluccio’s where I used a voucher to get one meal for £1 – result!
 
* Finding another of these wonderful pavement plaques on a Newcastle street.
 
I am not listening to the radio and definitely will not be watching TV news today - no brightness there.

More men at work, or not, as the case may be! Hope there was plenty of H&S there – they were a bit higher up than my lamplighters of Appleby.
