Onto the Snow

Yesterday at work - today out on the snow.
Yesterday finished late for me. Tonight we have friends round for dinner and I was preparing a pot of reindeer stew that was going to cook very slowly overnight. About 1:30 this morning I put it into the oven and left it cooking at around 100°C until lunchtime today.
So it was a slightly slow start today but we did get out on our skis. The snow was a little soft but the temperature hovered around 0 this morning so it wasn't too sticky. While we were out the sun came forth and there was even a rainbow in the sky, unusual at this time of year. We skied past a new beaver lodge on the lake and I wondered how close two groups of beavers can live. This new lodge is only about 500 metres from the old on, on the same small lake.
As I was coming back up the hill, headed for home, the sun was just going down behind a line of trees.
A good day of fresh air and now looking forward to dinner for five; all-in-all an excellent Friday.  Have a good weekend everyone!
