Wink at the Moon

Neil Armstrong: 'Think of me and wink at the moon'

Neil Armstrong died yesterday, Saturday 25th August 2012, aged 82. 'It's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind'

This was a half moon tonight. It was very clear at times but difficult to capture the mood. This brought back one of those where were you when it happened? memories. My mum woke me to watch Armstrong take the first steps out of the Moon lander module on the Sea of Tranquility. This was in the early hours of the morning - and it was a school day, so I was a very tired young bunny! Good on mum for staying up and waking me though as she was at work the following day. This was an inspiring event in 1969 and perhaps taught an entire generation to believe in science and technology - as well as freedom and philosophy !

Now we are watching pictures every day from Mars - Curiosity ! I hope this inspires another generation to be as curious as we were in 69.

It is also my big brothers birthday....so happy birthday bruv!

'Live long and prosper'
