Oregon Junco

It was a good day for rainbows today.
It was also a good day for rain, white clouds, sun, blue sky, black clouds and more rain. Ozzie had a very short walk this morning because by the time we were ready to leave the house, it was raining. We walked over to check the creek, as is our wont when it rains. It is not nearly as high as it was last week, which is good because there is more to come.

By the time we got home and out of our wet clothes, the rain had stopped and we saw a rainbow over Spring Lake on or way to Acre coffee. At the bookstore, OilMan got himself a couple of puzzles and I got myself a couple of books, The High Mountains of Portugal by Yann Martel, and The Muralist by B.A. Shapiro to see us through the next rainstorms.

We made a final stop at the kitchen store, a family run place which has been in Santa Rosa since 1924. One of the best things about it is that it has a service department which repairs all the small appliances they sell. They didn't have the kitchen timer we were looking for, but they had a very friendly sales guy who sold us a spiralizer for our Kitchen Aid mixer. Should be some good photo ops thereof nothing else....

It was raining again when we came out of the kitchen store, so we came home and set about reorganizing the pantry. I rearranged everything and OilMan made a couple of new shelves. There was a nice view of the sky, the alternating bands of rain and sunshine and another rainbow.

The birds seem to have some innate weather radar. They were appearing in droves today, fattening themselves up on suet and disappearing with the first drops of rain.

It's now just about time to transition into what OilMan calls 'evening mode'. I call it wine time ...a nice Pinot Noir and a bit of Stilton.
